WE LIVE IN A WORLD OF CHANGING FASHIONS. Yes, fashion comes and fashion goes, but the earth remains. Several years ago, I picked up some pictures taken by my parents during their wedding, and some of the things I saw were quite amusing. Some women who appeared in those pictures wore clothes that were funny to me. This message is an excerpt from my ebook titled: Women Are Not Mere Objects of Sex.
However, do you know that looking around today, women have literally reverted to wearing the same thing? That tells you something: We live in a world where fashion is indispensable.
Don’t Be Critical About Fashion
Some Christians become critical whenever they hear the word fashion. They fail to realize that just like there is nothing wrong with money; there is also nothing wrong with fashion. You see, money is an amoral substance — it is neither moral nor immoral. The user of money is the one who brings either morality or immorality to it.
That is, if the user of money is ungodly, then the money in his hand will definitely be used for ungodly acts, and vice versa. But there is nothing wrong with money in itself.
By the same token, there is nothing wrong with fashion in itself. It takes a godly person to use fashion in an wholesome manner. Also, an ungodly person will push fashion to the extreme, and magnify ungodly acts. The question we should ask ourselves is this: Can a woman be fashionable and at the same time be godly?
You see, Christianity does not go against fashion; it only teaches us to use fashion within the confines of God’s will.
3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
We should endeavour to do away with extreme teachings in all their ramifications. The reason I said this is that, many Christian women have given in to certain extreme doctrines, and they feel wearing of good clothes and jewelry is ungodly and unholy.
Confusion…Even From The Pulpit!
Many pastors and Bible teachers have actually created more problems for women than they can solve, because there are so many middle-aged women (even some in their forties) in churches, who are still unmarried!
It’s not that these women want to remain unmarried, but the truth is that, men do not desire them for wives. More often than not, the cause of this malady is in the shabby, repulsive and annoying ways many Christian women dress….READ ALL IN THE BOOK ADVERTISED BELOW!
